Deducting Medical Expenses

When deducting medical expenses on your tax return, you need to know which medical expenses are tax deductible and which medical expenses are not tax deductible. When you have figured out what medical expenses apply to you and the total amount, you can only deduct those deductible medical expenses that are in excess of 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. That means you can only deduct your medical expenses if they are significant when compared to your adjusted gross income.
